WHY A BASIC KEY CAN LET YOU DOWN

It may be the key — not the radiator.

Many traditional keys give you one size and tiny wings to grip. HeatLab’s original design solves both problems in one compact tool.

Warranty varies

Basic radiator keys vary. This comparison reflects common small, single-size brass designs.

Designed after 20+ years working on heating systems: the right fit, better control and one solid piece of steel.

Two ends. The right fit.

Old radiator? New radiator? You are covered.

01

Smaller imperial end for the older UK radiator vents that defeat many standard keys.

02

Standard metric end for the square bleed screws used on most modern radiators.

03

Snug engagement helps reduce slipping and gives you more confidence at the valve.

Why we made the Ultimate Radiator Key

THE ORIGINAL HEATLAB INVENTION

Designed by a UK heating engineer — not copied from a generic key.

After more than 20 years working on heating systems, HeatLab founder Lee designed the key he wanted in his own toolkit: two useful sizes, a proper handle and one solid piece of steel.

Built as one proper tool

Precision-cut from one solid piece of stainless steel.

The whole Ultimate Radiator Key — both ends and the 7.5cm handle — is cut from a single piece of heat-treated 17-7 stainless steel. There is no separate handle or soft cast body to twist out of shape.

17-7 stainless steel for strength and durability

One-piece construction with no joint to loosen

Flat, compact shape with a keyring hole

Questions, answered

Everything you need to know.

Will it fit my radiator?

The Ultimate Radiator Key has a standard metric end for modern radiators and a smaller imperial end for older UK radiator vents. It is designed for the common square bleed screws found on old and new radiators. Screwdriver-slot and specialist valve types need their own tool.

Why not use a normal radiator key?

Most basic keys give you one size and very little to grip. If that size is loose on an older or worn vent, it can slip. The Ultimate Radiator Key gives you two square sizes plus a longer handle for a more controlled turn.

Will it work on a painted, worn or damaged bleed screw?

If the square is still intact enough for one end to engage snugly, the closer fit and longer handle can make a difficult vent much easier to turn. No radiator key can safely rescue a completely rounded, snapped or seized bleed screw; those may need the vent replacing by a heating professional.

Is it suitable for homeowners as well as heating engineers?

Yes. It was designed by a UK heating engineer for everyday use, but there is nothing complicated about it: choose the snug-fitting end, turn slowly and close the vent as soon as water appears.

What is it made from?

The Ultimate Radiator Key is precision-cut as one solid piece from heat-treated 17-7 stainless steel. Both key ends and the handle are part of the same piece, with no separate joint to loosen.

Does it have a warranty?

Yes. HeatLab backs the Ultimate Radiator Key with a lifetime warranty. Order support is handled directly by the HeatLab team in the UK.
